About the educator
Brittany Haas
An influential fiddler known for old time, bluegrass, Celtic, and Scandinavian styles, she began touring at fourteen with Darol Anger's Republic of Strings. She's performed with Béla Fleck, Chris Thile, Abigail Washburn, and Yonder Mountain String Band, and leads the acclaimed quartet Hawktail.

“I've done other courses which spend the first several lessons on just scales and bowing exercises, which is necessary, but BORING. I like how she almost immediately starts with familiar tunes. Some commenters have asked about the ornamentation and double-stops, etc. which isn't addressed initially - I think this is a good idea, it encourages me to keep moving ahead in the course to get to those things.”
